My name is Ron Stein and I will be your guide to using effective marketing strategies to help you sell more of your products and services. For me, there is no greater thrill than selling a solution that helps people. But I wasn’t successful until I discovered that great marketing sells.

I created the Marketing Strategies Guide to share with you my many years of professional experience in marketing, selling, and business development. The information on this website is free to use because I enjoy coaching and helping people.

The interest I had in driving revenue started in middle school when I earned my spending money delivering newspapers and again during high school summer breaks while working with my dad in his wholesale food business.

When I was a student at the University of Florida my attention turned to finding solutions to problems. I managed to find an interesting ‘hole’ in the local market and ending up selling a transportation service aimed at other students.

That was the first time I used effective marketing strategies to understand what the students needed and how to reach out to them - and didn’t even know it!

After graduating and going to work for Motorola, I finally began my professional selling career. My territory was South Florida and the Caribbean and selling was now in my blood. What a great feeling to see how my efforts made life better for others. I thought, this is good!


I Made the Connection Between Marketing And Selling

Early in my career I noticed how the marketing efforts of the companies I worked for could help me or hurt me. It seems like the marketing and sales teams in most companies treat each other like the enemy. If these two very important functions are not in sync, how can a company successfully drive revenue?

Effective marketing strategies and execution are frequently the difference between success and mediocrity. Or failure.

I have since gone on to leadership roles as VP of Sales, VP of Marketing, VP of Business Development, and CEO for start up companies and large public corporations. I’ve done it all, learning what works and what doesn’t along the way.

But the one thing always stood out – effective marketing strategies are critical for success. The definition of marketing is wide and deep – it’s what you think it is and much, much more. The better you understand all it’s pieces and why it forms the foundation of a winning company, the faster success will follow.

What is marketing? I started The Marketing Strategies Guide to answer this question and share my years of “been there, done that” experience. Giving you practical how-to advice, making it easier for you to sell more and get there faster.


A Passion For Coaching

My passion is to help people like you achieve their business goals with the know-how I’ve acquired over the years.

I’ve taught a course at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta showing people how their business can take advantage of the internet with email and website marketing strategies. More recently I was a guest instructor at The Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the University of Florida.

For the last handful of years I have been an independent marketing and business adviser. In addition to consulting with companies of all types and sizes, I act as an interim executive as well as a mentor to young founders. I help them with their sales, marketing, or business development strategies with practical solutions and plan execution.

My background is extensive – international business, e-commerce, new product launches, venture capital fund raising, strategic partnerships, sales channel development, workshop presentations, website marketing strategies, business and marketing plans, branding, market analysis, sales tool development, business cases, white papers, press and analyst interviews, and intellectual property management.

All of this was accomplished with effective marketing strategies always at the top of my mind. For me the question is not what is the definition of marketing, but what is marketing success!
